A Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition Background
You could be a travelling salesman, a shop owner, or you might run shops in more than one town. Whatever the case might be: You buy and sell goods to make a living. because of this, you know people. You know what they want and how much it is worth to them. Wherever you go, your smile, your conviction, and even your stature can convince people that your price is what they should be paying you. For some merchants, the price is always fair. Others might have to protect themselves for later repercussions.
Skill Proficiencies: One of Deception, Intimidation, and Persuasion. You also gain Insight.
Tool Proficiencies: One type of Artisan Tools that fits your type of goods that you produce or sell.
Languages: One of your choice.
Equipment: One type of Artisan Tools (see above), a scroll of inventory of your goods or properties, a backpack, and a belt pouch containing 10 GP.
Feature: Eye on the Price
You know what things are worth and with a quick glance, you can tell what common goods would fetch you on the market or if you are being deceived while buying common goods. When an item gets rarer, you can make an insight check while evaluating an item to see if you can determine its worth. The base DC is 13, but this can increase the rarer the item is. talk to your DM to determine the DC of an item.
In addition, after staying in one populated place for more than an hour, you know what shops or merchants keep fair prices for their wares.
